So glad you're back. You write "I can’t quite hold a whole complicated story at once, I can’t picture the structure and rotate it around in my head like a 3D model to see all of its faces — and that’s how I used to do this work..." toward the end of a long, beautifully crafted, multi-faceted (climate damage, climate solutions, local news) piece of writing, with a prose style I can only envy. I'm looking forward to learning from you again.

A bill that would bring utility regulation and the Public Service Commission in line with state climate/clean energy goals, and direct the PSC to plan for the eventual sunset of natural gas infrastructure in the state.

State law as it stands requires gas utilities to connect new customers in their territory for free, which is expensive, and that cost is spread out among existing gas customers. As that pool of gas customers shrinks, the ones still left will be on the hook for new connections and the cost of repairing leaky pipes -- and as more households electrify, those costs will only go up for the households still on gas. It's a big problem that only the legislature can fix.

Happy you’re still at it. Somehow government must push to make the playing field fair. Keep playing !

Bless you, bless your crops. Or your houseplants, as the case may be. Doing okay here, I really am the luckiest thing alive.

Glad to be back at it.
